The PIA Support Tree

Dear Pelvic Instability Association (PIA) Supporters,

As you all know, Pelvic Girdle Pain due to pregnancy can be a challenging problem for  women, especially with children and families to care for. Feelings of frustration, isolation and the need for more support are certainly common themes in the emails and messages we receive from women all around Australia every week. While our volunteers are available via email, phone and Facebook, as well as our 3-4 support meetings per year in Victoria, often this simply isn't enough.

So 2011 is the year that PIA is introducing an exciting new initiative called "The PIA Support Tree" which is all about women branching out to each other and supporting each other through the difficulties that Pelvic Girdle Pain poses. The PIA Support Tree is intended to encourage women suffering with Pelvic Girdle Pain to form a support network with other women who live in their area. What a wonderful opportunity to help each other, share your ideas, tips and tricks and be there for each other when things aren't going well and to celebrate the small steps to recovery!

We are calling for volunteers to reply via email if you are willing for your email address to be pooled in a special database and made available to other women in your area who are looking for someone who understands what they are going through. This might mean an email, a phone call or perhaps even meeting for a coffee or at the playground in your local area.

PIA offers the following guidelines to make the experience enjoyable for all. Please respect each other, by maintaining respectful language and respecting privacy. PIA does not encourage discussion of practitioners and no liability is accepted by PIA for discussion content. PIA doesn't give any medical advice or provide any endorsements. The PIA Support Tree is a project to support each other in good faith.

Please contact us via email
pelvicinstability@yahoo.com if you are willing to participate in what promises to be a wonderful supportive network of women who can help each other through the tough times and offer advice, care and even possibly friendship. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Warm regards,
The Pelvic Instability Association
